SMS Messaging Terms and Conditions

These terms apply to our optional, non-marketing text messages for routine administrative communication.
About our text messages
Gravity Psychiatry & Wellness PLLC offers optional, non-marketing text messages for routine administrative communication. Messages may include appointment reminders, scheduling updates, intake and registration reminders, patient portal notifications, and billing or payment notices.
By opting in, you agree to receive these messages at the mobile number you provide, including messages sent using automated technology. This consent does not authorize promotional or marketing text messages. Providing a telephone number alone does not enroll you in this recurring-message program.
Your choice
Text-message consent is voluntary and is not a condition of receiving treatment or purchasing goods or services. You may decline or withdraw consent and communicate with the practice by telephone or through the secure patient portal instead.
Message frequency and charges
Message frequency varies based on your appointments and interactions with the practice. Message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile carrier and plan.
How to stop messages
Reply STOP to a message from this program to opt out. You may receive one final message confirming your request. After that, no further messages from this program will be sent unless you opt in again. We will also honor another reasonable request that clearly asks us to stop text messages.
You may also call (309) 245-7115 to withdraw consent or update your communication preferences. Opting out of text messages does not cancel appointments or change your financial obligations.

Privacy and sensitive information
Ordinary text messaging is not the same as secure patient-portal messaging. Texts may be visible to others who can access your phone, notifications, or account. Even an appointment reminder may reveal that you receive services from a mental health practice.
Do not send detailed health information, medical records, identification documents, or payment-card information through ordinary text messages. Use the secure patient portal or call the office for guidance.
Mobile numbers, SMS opt-in information, and text-message consent records will not be sold or rented, or shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Information necessary to operate the texting program may be shared with messaging service providers and telecommunications carriers that support message delivery, consent management, and opt-out processing. We do not authorize these providers to use this information for their own marketing. Disclosures required by law remain subject to applicable health-information privacy protections.
Please review our Privacy Policy for additional information. Consent to administrative texting is not a general authorization to release your medical records and does not replace other required consents or authorizations.
Keep your number current
Provide a mobile number you are authorized to use, and promptly notify the practice if your number changes or you no longer control it.
Delivery limitations
Text messages may be delayed or undelivered. Wireless carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Do not rely on text-message delivery for time-sensitive care or appointment changes.
Emergencies and urgent concerns
Text messages are not continuously monitored and must not be used for emergencies or urgent clinical concerns. For immediate danger or a medical emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department. For suicidal thoughts, emotional distress, or a mental health crisis, call or text 988.
